Dean Sakamoto is the Executive Director of SHADE Institute, a Honolulu, Hawai’i-based non-profit public interest design organization. He is also Principal of Dean Sakamoto Architects LLC which was founded in New Haven, Connecticut (1999) while he served on Yale School of Architecture faculty. Sakamoto holds a B.Arch. from the University of Oregon; M.Arch. from Cranbrook Academy of Art; and M.EvD. from Yale University.
