Ameyalli Ferguson-Mañon

Ameyalli Ferguson-Mañon (Mazahua, Nahua, and Osage) is an Indigenous Cultural Ecologist whose work explores the inseparable relationship between healthy communities and thriving ecosystems. As Cultural Ecology Program Manager at Parrott Creek Child & Family Services, she leads the stewardship of an 80-acre landscape of forests, creeks, wetlands, and prairie, bringing together Indigenous ecological knowledge, habitat restoration, first-food access, environmental education, and community engagement. Raised within Oregon’s Indigenous communities and educated in sustainability, Native American ecology, and Indigenous studies, Ameyalli works to restore reciprocal relationships between people and land—creating opportunities for healing, learning, cultural continuity, and stewardship across generations.
